Hi! We’re Kyle and Stephanie. We met in San Francisco, got married in Seattle, honeymooned in Amsterdam, Munich, Zurich, Innsbruck, and Paris, and have recently moved to Bangkok.
We started this blog to document our residency in Thailand and share our traveling tips along the way. No matter if you’re a planner (like Stephanie) or more of an at-whim adventurer (like Kyle), we hope our site will inspire you to travel the world–from the most popular attractions to the roads less traveled.
I’m Japanese, Korean, Spanish, Puerto Rican, and Portuguese. In other words, if I had a dollar for every time someone thought I looked like someone they know, I could fund our travels singlehandedly! Originally from Hawai’i, I’ve always enjoyed crossing the Pacific Ocean, in every direction, to immerse myself in other cultures and cuisine. By nature, I am a planner and budgeter and my travels reflect those traits. Rarely do I go anywhere without tens of hours of researching the must-dos, hidden gems, best foods, and the cheapest way to accomplish it all. Also, I have almost no navigation skills, am always preemptively looking for the nearest restroom, and love sending postcards to my loved ones.
I’m a born and raised Midwesterner (USA) who’s traded in the traditional meat and potatoes for whatever’s cooking at the street stall just around the corner. That’s pretty much my approach to travel, make no plans and let my stomach and camera lead the way. It usually works out, when it doesn’t I’ll write about it so you can stay clear. Official navigator, restroom spotter, and postage finder.
